Manage meters
Move, delete, edit, and create meters with the All Meters option.
Meters are typically attached to sites and NOT organizations
- Weather normalization works only at the site level (sites have weather stations).
- Budget worksheets include site-attached meters only.
- Energy Use Intensity (EUI) is accurate only when building area is available (not tracked at the organization level).
- Benchmarking calculations exclude organization-attached meters.
- Outlier audits skip bills from meters at the organization level.
- ENERGY STAR submissions require meters to be linked to a site.
- Reports (by building area) may miss organization-attached meters.
Move a meter
When you move a meter to a different site, it affects several things:
- Weather station connection (used for weather normalization)
- Cost avoidance data
- Group membership (the meter joins new groups and leaves old one)
- Subtotaled data in Powerviews (totals are updated to reflect the new location)
What gets updated
- Reports

A meter failed to move
- If one meter fails to move, they all fail to move.
- Results of the move are displayed.
Delete meters
- When the delete process is complete, a banner appears with the number of meters deleted and not deleted.
- All bills associated with each meter are deleted.
