Cost Categories
Cost categories are labels that group your bill line types, such as demand charges, energy charges, and taxes, into broader buckets for reporting and analysis. By assigning your line types to categories, you control how billing costs are broken down when you use the Group by cost category filter in charts and dashboards.
For example, you might create categories like Energy, Demand, and Taxes so that stacked bar charts and trend comparisons show costs at that level rather than displaying every individual line type separately.
Well-defined cost categories help you control how billing data appears in charts and reports. When categories are clear and consistent, it's easier to compare utility costs, spot trends, and report on costs.
