EnergyCAP 7.0.6 release notes
We've finished another round of EnergyCAP updates that we've released as part of Version 7.0.6. Much of the work included in this update involved behind-the-scenes improvements to EnergyCAP that enable us to build more advanced features in the future. However, this release also includes some more visible improvements:
This release includes some significant improvements to EnergyCAP's Setup Spreadsheets. In case you haven't used Setup Spreadsheets before, they provide a quick and easy way to setup your EnergyCAP data and perform updates to some of the most commonly used items in your database (Buildings, Meters, Accounts, Vendors, etc.). After the 7.1.0 update, you must download and work with newly formatted Setup Spreadsheets -- previously downloaded Setup Spreadsheets will not process properly going forward.
- Rate Schedules and Bill Entry Templates assigned to Meters can be easily edited. We've added new screens for managing Rate Schedules and Bill Entry Templates — you can now add/remove Rate Schedules and Bill Entry Templates over time for each Meter assigned to an Account.
- Latitude and longitude information has been pre-populated to improve map performance. Map Dashboards are one of the most notable new features in EnergyCAP Version 7. They place your facilities on a Google Map and provide an easy-to-understand view of your energy/billing data. Although we will map any building with an address, these maps perform best when each of your facilities has associated latitude and longitude information. While it's easier than ever to update the latitude and longitude information for each of your buildings with a Setup Spreadsheet, we have pre-populated this information for buildings where we could find reasonable location information (and the latitude and longitude information was not already provided). This helps speed up the application for you, and it also gives you a head start if you decide to provide more detailed location information in the future.
- Edit Meter Import ID and Route from Meter Properties. We've added a new option to edit the Meter Import ID and the Route information for each Meter from the Properties screen. Look for the edit pencil at the bottom of the "Channels" panel.
- Better feedback when taking actions on multiple bills simultaneously from a Bill List. When you select multiple bills or all of the bills in a Bill List and perform an action like Approve, Hold from Export, or Void, you will receive one of three types of messages:
- "7 bills updated" — All bills selected were updated as requested.
- "4 bills updated, 3 bills unchanged" — Some, but not all, of the bills were updated as requested. This could be due to limited permissions or bills that are already in a state where the requested change cannot be applied (e.g., trying to approve bills that have already been approved).
- "7 bills unchanged" — None of the selected bills were updated. This could be due to limited permissions or bills that are already in a state where the requested change cannot be applied (e.g., trying to approve bills that have already been approved).
