Add an organization with Create (plus sign)
The Create dialog provides quick access to manual bill entry, importing files, and creating common UtilityManagement objects.
Steps for adding a new organization
- First you need to decide where the new organization should be located in the buildings and meters tree.
- Click the Actions menu and select Add New Organization.
- Fill in the form. Place the new organization under the parent organization that you selected in step 1.
- Your next steps could be:
- To place buildings under this organization.
- Editing an existing building and selecting this organization as its parent.
- Creating a new building.
- Creating additional organizations beneath this one.

Click Create and then Add Organization.
Organization details
Parent: Determines where the new organization is created. Organizations can be nested as needed.
Name: The name can include spaces and is limited to 50 characters.
Code: A unique identifier, cannot include spaces and is limited to 32 characters.
Type: Type is most useful when using the Place Type filter on reports, this lets you group similar organizations. If you are unsure use the default type Organization.
Description: Add additional information for this organization.
