Bill retrieval and processing method
EnergyCAP now tracks the retrieval method and processing method for bills processed by Bill Capture. This information is visible on bill lists, the bill view card, and Account properties, where you can see the last six billing periods.
These fields are populated automatically as bills are processed and do not require manual entry. Data is populated going forward from July 22, 2026 and is not retroactively updated. Accounts will show No Data Available until the fields are populated.
Bill retrieval method options include:
- Customer upload
- EC Staff upload
- SFTP
- Web Download
Bill processing method options include:
- Bill processing legacy
- Bill processing
- Electronic exchange
- User entry
Account setup sheets have been updated to remove this column, since the fields are now automatically populated in the application.
New color palette for interval data heat maps
A new color palette called Cividis is now available for interval data heat maps. Switch palettes from the More Actions menu. Unlike the default palette, Cividis provides more contrast between high and low usage values, making subtle differences in low-usage intervals easier to see.
GL Subcode field length increased
The GL Subcode field length has been increased from 25 to 255 characters. GL subcode values no longer need to be stored as a custom field, simplifying your workflow.
The create and update spreadsheets have also been updated to accept 255 characters.
REC emissions calculation update
EnergyCAP now only creates REC emissions records for market-based scope categories. Previously, if an emissions source had multiple scope categories and factors assigned, a REC record was created for each category/factor pair, including location-based ones. This was incorrect behavior, as RECs are a market-based instrument and should not offset location-based emissions.
To update existing records generated under the previous behavior, you can unlink and relink the meter and emissions source, or download the affected records and update them in bulk using Setup Spreadsheets. See REC emissions calculation update for details.
