Emissions module

The Emissions module in EnergyCAP allows you to track, manage, and report greenhouse gas emissions based on your utility data and other sources. It provides visibility into emissions performance and supports both high-level reporting and detailed analysis.

What the Emissions module does

The Emissions module enables you to:

  • Track emissions from energy use and other sources.
  • Store and manage emissions records.
  • Apply emissions factors for accruate calculations.
  • Generate summary and detailed emissions reports.

This helps organizations monitor environmental impact and support sustainability initiatives.

Working in the Emissions module

View and filter records

  • Access the Emissions module to see all records.
  • Use filters to narrow data by date, source, or other criteria.
  • Filtering improves performance and helps focus analysis.

Edit and maintain data

  • Open a record to review details.
  • Update incorrect values as needed
  • Delete records when appropriate

Regular maintenance ensures accurate reporting.

What you'll see in the Emissions module

Insights 

When you click on the Emissions module you will see various options.

Insights give you a quick look at yearly emissions for a selected emissions source or collection. You can:

  • Expand a chart to view its filters.
  • Download the chart as an image.
  • Download the data behind the chart.

All collections

All Collections shows every collection in one view, including its parent relationships. You can:

Move or delete collections

To reorganize collections:

  1. Go to All Collections.
  2. Select one or more collections.
  3. Click Move or Delete.

Notes:

  • You can move multiple items at one time.
  • Any children move with their parent.
  • If one object fails to move, they all fail to move.

All Emissions Sources

This is where you view and manage you emissions sources. If you have many changes you can import and update multiple emissions sources at one time with spreadsheets.

Move or delete emissions sources

To move or delete emissions sources:

  1. Click on All Emissions Sources.
  2. Select one or more emissions sources.
  3. Click Move or Delete.

Workflow overview for the Emissions module

  1. Access emissions records
    • Navigate to the emissions module
    • View or filter records
    • Ensure emission sources and factors are correctly configured.
  2. Review or edit data
    • Check record details (ID, dates, quantities).
    • Update or remove incorrect entries.
    • Regularly  review emissions records for accuracy.
  3. Run reports
  4. Analyze Results
    • Compare emissions across buildings or time periods.
    • Validate data using detailed reports.
